Mohammad Ehsani was born in Tabriz and he studied English literature at university. Being interested in social, historical and anthropological issues led him to make documentary.

His films have been screened at many domestic and foreign festivals and have won awards. His documentary film Once Hamoun won the main prize of the Ecotop Environmental Film Festival in 2017.

The subject of most of his works has been environmental issues with an environmental-social approach in recent years.

Mohammad Ehsani joined the Iranian Documentary Filmmakers Association, IRDFA in 2007.
